How a Priest, Grooms and Sexually Abuses Young Women amid Church and Police Collusion in USA
This disturbing article appeared recently on Huffington Post
It describes abuses that happened at a girls Catholic High School in Baltimore. But this could have happened anywhere and has happened elsewhere.
This long and painful article helps understand the kind of things Fr. Maciel did for decades, inside and outside the Legion, especially with adolescent males...It also helps to understand how Church authorities 'do not want to be bothered' by this subject and tend to dismiss accusations and "protect their own"
The reader can grasp some of the fear and confusion experienced by Maciel's victims: "He is a priest. He is a saint. We are helping him with is illness....If we don't comply we will have to leave the seminary, we will never be ordained, never reach our goal...We are depraved. We like this. We are gay. We cannot get married....."
The malice and depravity of the priest is hard to digest. But we must remembered that we are talking seriously disturbed people who have a charming exterior; they are charming psychopaths, skilled manipulators and controllers who "get away with murder"

Victims of paedophile priests urge action from pope
Victims of paedophile priests urge action from pope
Pope Francis has called for ‘zero tolerance’ of abusive priests
Mexico City:
Victims of sexually abusive priests from across the Americas joined forces on Monday to urge Pope Francis to allow civilian justice to punish paedophiles and those who covered up their crimes.
From the United States to Argentina, Chile, Mexico and other nations,
victims issued a letter made public in Mexico City telling the Argentine
pontiff that “words are not enough.”
The letter said that only civilian trials and Church reform will put an
end to the “great holocaust of thousands of boys and girls who were
sacrificed to avoid scandal and salvage the image and prestige of the
Catholic Church’s representatives in the world.”
The victims said the pope’s recent admonishments of sex abuse in the
Church are “ambiguous and contradictory” because they do not lead to any
“institutional process toward truth and justice.”
The letter was read by Jose Barba, one of the victims of Marcial
Maciel, the Mexican founder of the ultraconservative Legion of Christ
order who died in 2008.
Pope Francis has called for “zero tolerance” of abusive priests since his election in March 2013.
He has asked victims for forgiveness, pledged to combat paedophilia and formed a Church child protection panel.
This month, he issued a strongly-worded letter to bishops warning Roman
Catholic clergy they must never try to cover up sexual abuse.
He has also intervened in cases like one in Spain that saw 10 priests accused of sexually abusing an altar boy.
While the pope voiced “great pain” and ordered a church investigation
into the case, a Spanish court dropped charges against nine of the
clergymen because the accuser waited too long to bring the charges.
At the press conference in Mexico City, some of the victims questioned
the pope’s commitment to fighting paedophilia in the Church.
“We demand that the pope, at the very least, live up to his word
because we can all make headlines. Enough with the headlines,” said Juan
Carlos Cruz, a Chilean victim who said he felt “deeply betrayed” by the
pontiff.
Julieta Anazco of Argentina said that when Francis was known as
Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, he “never received
anybody,” despite requests by victims to meet him.
“We are all very sad and losing hope. We have asked for something
effective to be done. We want (abusive priests) to be removed and tried”
in criminal court, said Anazco, who was abused by a priest at a
Church-sponsored summer camp in the 1980s.
The network of victims from the Americas said that the pope’s
predecessor, Benedict XVI, secretly suspended 400 priests for abusing
children, and that they faced Vatican justice without the testimony or
knowledge of the victims and their lawyers.
Barbara Blaine, president of the Survivors Network of those Abused by
Priests, said via video conference from the United States that Pope
Francis should follow the recommendations of the United Nations, which
said last year that the Church violated the UN Convention on the Rights
of the Child.

The Pope has formally dismissed a former priest convicted of child sexual abuse.
Although Donaghy stepped down from his duties in March 2004, Pope Francis has now officially banned him from the ministry.
At his 2011 trial. Donaghy was found guilty of 23 sex abuse charges committed against three teenagers. In 2013, he was convicted of abusing a fourth victim. the court heard he told his young victim he could get his grandfather into heaven as he sexually abused the boy, the BBC reports.
“This means that Mr Donaghy is not permitted to function as a priest under any circumstance, public or private.”
“On behalf of the priests and people of the Diocese of Down and Connor, I again extend my deepest sorrow and apologise to survivors who suffered such pain at the hands of someone in whom they had placed their trust.
“I hope that this decision will assist those affected on their journey towards healing.”
He added: “I assure all that the Diocese remains fully committed to protecting children and vulnerable adults with comprehensive structures of safeguarding in place throughout the diocese supported by specialist personnel and thousands of trained volunteers.
“The Diocese is also committed to bringing healing to the victims of abuse and is conscious of the right to privacy of the victims and will make no further comment.

Wayne Marlon Jones, 53, of Ajax is charged with sexual assault and three counts of fraud over $5,000.
Ajax News Advertiser
DURHAM -- An Ajax man has been charged after a woman was sexually assaulted during church-related counselling, including exorcisms, police said.
Toronto police said that between May of 2011 and May of 2013 the suspect, a pastor at the United Spiritual Baptist Church on Midland Avenue in Scarborough, exploited a woman to whom he provided spiritual counselling. The sessions included performing exorcisms, police said.
It’s alleged that during the sessions the woman was sexually assaulted. The suspect also convinced the woman to give him money and property, police said.
Wayne Marlon Jones, 53, of Ajax is charged with sexual assault and three counts of fraud over $5,000.
Mr. Jones is identified on the United Spiritual Baptist Church website as “Bishop Wayne Jones”. A biography on the site said Mr. Jones was born in Trinidad and Tobago and immigrated to Canada in 1984. The site says he was ordained as a minister in 1987 and the following year “pastured” his own congregation, called the Mt. Ararat Spiritual Baptist Church. He was consecrated as a Bishop in 1990, the site says.
According to the website the church’s services include baptisms, weddings, Bible studies, programs for first-time offenders and Sunday services. There is no mention of exorcisms.
The church is described as a “non-profit charitable organization whose main goal is to promote Christianity”.
A woman who answered a phone number listed on the site Wednesday refused to comment.
Mr. Jones was charged with the offences he now faces in late August of 2014, but police said Wednesday they are concerned there may be more victims.
Call police at 416-808-1400 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.
